SUMMARY
No matter how fast we want to get on with our lives, the pull to wade in emotional tides has a strong influence over us. This moon asks us to nurture the tender parts of our heart and to understand how this work is necessary to take larger, ambitious leaps. There is a greater awareness regarding how social issues impact our routines. Self-care is done within a context; power is shifting precariously between the hands of those in power and those of the powerful. Your exhaustion is not spontaneously generated. There is a need to be mindful of what engenders weariness in our current context, be it matters of the workplace and/or matters of the home.

There is a sentiment right now among folks that we do not want to merely survive but thrive. How can tending to our emotions fill our cups with courage? What routines work best for us and how can we create sustaining habits? Like our self-preservation mechanisms are a response to external factors, so are how we define our goals. The extent to which we feel like we can get anything accomplished should not be solely put on our own shoulders. The nebulous factors changing our material landscape must be taken into consideration too.
I am using words such as “precarious” and “nebulous” because there are skeletons in societal closets that are being beckoned to make an appearance in the land of the living. What happens when soiled laundry is on display for all to see and remark upon? Everyone will have an opinion and, more importantly, everyone will have a reckoning.
This moon will illuminate our real feelings about how we are perceived in our daily lives and how our labor is valued. We will demand more control over these areas of our lives in a way that has not really been tested in the past. Struggle with these realizations lie within our ability to articulate our new sense of self and how capable we feel about actually creating new, charged, personal routines. It will be normal to feel a mental fog looming over our processing.
Moreover, wherever our focus lands will veer into the eccentric, the beaten path if you will. This path is one of self-advocacy that we may not have dealt with before, or one we have not explored for some time. While words might be jumbled, and while we might find ourselves reflecting on ourselves in a new, raw, fashion, the benefit of this moon is that our feelings will at least make sense to us.
Personal boundaries will be tested as we flow into a state of becoming. This moon will be emotionally heavy, but it will feel necessary once all feelings have been purged. Now is not a good time to hold back.
Below are journal prompts that I have created to help you develop a relationship with the energies of this New Moon. Answer as many or as few prompts as you would like. Feel free to share your insights below in the comments. ~
