Conscious Attention: (The Emperor and the Knight of Rods Rx) Both of these cards refer back to Aries energy. With the Knight of Rods reversed right next to the Emperor upright, this combination speaks to the light and dark sides of Aries. A very fitting theme for Gemini season, as the season of the twins allows us to work with our light and dark sides. Though we only may want concern ourselves with everything we like about ourselves, we can only understand our Goodness as it relates and differentiates itself from our Darkness.
(It’s an issue of semantics. How do we define what a cat is? A cat is everything that is not a cat… How do we understand everything that we like about ourselves? For example, our empathy? In the ways that we are not empathetic; for all of the times that we do not connect with others, for all of the times we disregard others in sake of our own ambitions. We cannot be good unless we recognize the times in which we act poorly. This is a difficult concept to learn – I don’t even fully understand it, tbh – but I think this is an issue that relates to the issues we face during Gemini season. Spiritually developed Gemini energy does not dismiss its darkness. Instead, it embraces its darker edges as these are the edges that define everything that makes it pure).
I love the Emperor in the Aquarian deck because there is something soft about him. He is surrounded by lilies which are flowers that are often associated with Pisces. The Emperor here, then, represents both the personal ambition of Aries with the empathetic wisdom of Pisces. He is both young and old, cardinal and flexible, self-serving and selfless.
This iteration of the Emperor is also strewn with images of the Sun. The Sun is exalted in Aries, and Aries always know exactly what they want and are willing to go the distance to make their visions a reality.
This week will be reinvigorating. We will get a second wind and feel inspired by our passions, perhaps for the first time in a long time. Gemini season, in its battle between light and dark, can create the conditions that allow us to second guess ourselves and our abilities. This will not be the case this week, although this second wind might push us to act brashly (the Knight of Rods Rx). We cannot understand the absolute awesome power and vision of the Emperor if we do not also accept the tendency for Aries to rush into situations recklessly and without forethought.
Underlying Energies: (The Chariot and the Three of Coins) Ultimately, this week will bring about a surge of feel-good vibes. We will be renewed in our strength and confidence in ourselves. The Chariot is a sign of victory and re-establishing order into our lives. The Chariot is also associated to Cancer. Coincidentally, Mercury moves into Cancer on June 4th, moving our thoughts away from various thoughts and over-stimulation to being much more focused on our creative pursuits.
How can our ideas be turned into something tangible? How can we nurture our ideas with motherly care and birth them into the world? I do believe that this new Cancerian energy will help give us some guidance and closure for all of the thoughts that have been dominating our brain the last few weeks. The appearance of the Three of Coins here also suggests that our creative acts will be used to benefit our careers. We will come to nurture skills that will someday be of great use to us in the future.
Oracle #1: (Bull) This is the same card that I drew last week from this deck! How exciting; the themes of Taurus season are still upon us. Until Venus leaves Taurus at the very beginning of next week, we will still feel a certain kind of heaviness when it comes to our feelings towards love and finance. We want tangible proof of our hard work that we have been executing for the past couple of months, and without it, we feel lost and hopeless. The Bull here once again reminds us to remain faithful to our work ethic and that wealth will come our way in the very near future. We just need to remain tenacious and dedicated and learn to have faith in ourselves when we cannot sense the (expected) markers of our success.
Oracle #2 (Sun 31) This card only reaffirms that this week will be about rejuvenating our ego.
In Summary: We will feel inspired to work on our life’s purpose and to make great strides in our personal goals. Use this week to think about your Sun sign and everything that you like about it/yourself. Also think about all of the things that you may not like about your Sun sign and remember that these attributes define everything that you embrace. Explore the dualities of your ego and learn to find comfort in the “Good” and the “Bad.”
